Wow, the summer is going by fast! We have been active at many of the state Hereford functions. At the Eastern Ohio Junior Hereford Show on June 8th, the members showed off their beautiful Jerry Gadumus autographed number #329 print titled “Little Dogies”. We will be selling raffle tickets, one for a $1.00 or six for $5.00, at all events throughout the year. We will draw the winning ticket at the banquet in late January. Please support us by purchasing your raffle tickets.
Our queen and princesses have been doing a super job representing us at all of our shows this summer. This year’s Buckeye Hereford Queen is Denelle Billman, the Buckeye Hereford Princess is Marissa Pay, and the Jr. Buckeye Hereford Princess is Taylor Kellish. It takes a great deal of financial support so these girls can represent the Buckeye Hereford Association. The “Queen’s Fund” has been established to help support our State Queen in her efforts of promoting the beef industry and the pursuit of the National Queen title. Sponsor levels are: Gold- $100, Silver - $50, Bronze - $25. Sponsors are advertised wherever the Queen is being promoted. Donations should be sent to Karen Morrison and made payable to the Buckeye Pollettes Queen Fund.
We wish our Junior members the best of luck at the 2008 Junior National Hereford Expo in Kansas City, MO. and we hope to see everyone at the 2008 Ohio State Fair.
We will be having a short Pollette meeting at the Ohio State Fair after the Junior Show on July 30. I would like to invite old members and new ones to join. Membership is $20 which includes national membership. Karen Morrison is the treasurer so she will be glad to take your membership, or any other Pollette members will get you signed up on our membership list. We have a lot of fun together supporting our Junior members, our Senior Board, and our progressing Hereford breed. We are looking forward to the upcoming activities. Plan to join us.
